Android Developer

iQTransit is a Boston-area IT consulting and development firm.  Currently we are looking for an Android Developer to join our rapidly growing team! we are seeking an Android Developer who possesses a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits! As an iQTransit Android Developer you will work with our team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile Android applications.

Seeking someone with a passion for:

– Designing and building advanced applications for the Android platform
– Working with outside data sources and API’s
– Testing code for usability, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability.
– Working on bug fixes and improving application performance.
– Discovering, evaluating, and implementing new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
– Benchmarking and optimization

With desired Skills and Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or a related field
– 2 years in proven software development experience
– Working experience in Android development
– Strong knowledge of Android SDK, Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices
– Experience working with remote data
– Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
– Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
– Solid understanding of the mobile development life cycle.
– Experience with offline storage, threading, and performance tuning
– Ability to design applications around natural user interfaces
– Knowledge of the open-source Android ecosystem and the libraries available for common tasks
